The great size of the metropolis can only be appreciate when spotted from above, from either a plane or using satellite images. It becomes clear then, that this settlement was really well planned and developed, results that could only be obtained by an advanced civilization. The large number of gold mines implies that this could have been the main reason why they established here.

While modern science is still trying to figure out this mystery, archaeologists and researchers have hypothesized about the possibility of an ancient civilization, probably the oldest so far, that thrived in these parts using advanced methods for extracting gold and also for designing their city.

Over the past 20 years, many scientists have mutually agreed that this ancient stone structures could be in fact the remains of astronomical observatories and temples used by an ancient civilization who then vanished, leaving their temporary base behind. Who they were and how they left remains a topic of debate, but according to the renowned writer and researcher Zecharia Sitchin, this intriguing settlement could have belonged to The Anunnaki.

His work talks about this humanoid beings who came to Earth in the distant past in order to gather gold for a particular problem with the atmosphere of their spaceship-planet Nibiru. They found planet Earth and sent people here to set up base and gather the precious metal. It is believed that The Anunnaki established bases in ancient Mesopotamia as well as in south Africa, where they found abundant gold deposits.

450,000 B.C After long wars, the atmosphere of Nibiru began to deteriorate and became a hostile place for life, so the Anunnaki needed gold to repair their atmosphere. According to researchers, we can use gold nanoparticles to repair our damaged ozone layer.

416,000 B.C: Gold production fell, which made Anu come to Earth. Besides him, his other son Enlil arrived. Anu decided that mining would take place in Africa and promoted Enlil in charge of the Terran mission.

Ancient text says the Annunaki mined lots of gold to surround their own planet which was under threat of radiation, the fact is that the moon landers are made from gold foil to protect from radiation
