Conspiracy theorists are pointing their internet fingers at CERN, the home of the Large Hadron Collider, accusing the facility of opening a stargate and consequently causing a big mess in Europe and the rest of the world.

Alarms are being raised all over the internet by conspiracy theorists who are convinced the recent increase in worldwide seismic activity is not a natural phenomenon but was actually caused by CERN physicists who are playing with forces that far exceed their ability to control. Their statements are fueled by the fact that since August, Italy was hit by a series of tremors that claimed the lives of hundreds while causing billions in damage. The 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit New Zealand on Monday is yet another reason to suspect CERN is up to no good.

In a recently published YouTube video titled STARGATE AWAKENS AT CERN, conspiracy theorist BPEarthWatch accused the facility of dabbling in the unknown and in the process, shaking our planet’s very foundations.

“They have upped the game,” the video narrator claims. “We have been talking about this since the earthquakes started over in Italy. Now AWAKE is up and running now – for how long we don’t know. There is a link between the current earthquakes in Italy and the CERN collider activity. I personally believe this to be true.”

You probably know the story behind the Large Hadron Collider, the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator. Since it was turned on in 2008, the LHC has often made front page due to the various conspiracy theories it was associated with. The LHC has a smaller sibling, or rather a distant cousin: the Proton Driven Plasma Wakefield Acceleration Experiment aka AWAKE. Per CERN’s official description:

“A plasma wakefield is a type of wave generated by particles travelling through a plasma. AWAKE will send proton beams through plasma cells to generate these fields. By harnessing wakefields, physicists may be able to produce accelerator gradients hundreds of times higher than those achieved in current radiofrequency cavities. This would allow future colliders to achieve higher energies over shorter distances than is possible today.”

While the Large Hadron Collider accelerates particles through a 17 mile-long ring of superconducting magnets and smashes them at immense speeds, the AWAKE experiment is a little different. It injects a proton beam into a large plasma cell, generating strong wakefields. A second beam of protons is then shot into the plasma and accelerated by the wakefield. The protons are then charged with high levels of energy. The video below explains how this happens:

Protons have a greater mass than electrons, so a proton pulse will be able to penetrate deeper into the plasma, creating more charged regions, which in turn will provide more acceleration.

In short, it messes with subatomic particles in novel and –some would say– dangerous ways.

The official philosophy at CERN is to recreate the high-energy conditions that were present a short while after the Big Bang happened. This would allow the scientists o gain a better understanding of how the universe formed and evolved. The LHC/AWAKE experiments could also provide insight on the hows and whys of the laws of physics and even uncover the existence of parallel universes. But not everyone is convinced this knowledge will come without consequences.

Conspiracy theorists firmly believe this meddling with the intricate and little-understood quantum processes could set off a chain reaction that could render Earth uninhabitable or –even worse– destroy it altogether. They have voiced their concerns regarding the dangers of creating a micro black hole that could theoretically consume our entire planet. Others have speculated that these experiments could even tear the fabric of space and time and sent the entire universe into a catastrophic meltdown.

Another troublesome matter is the possibility of a wormhole being created at the facility. Surely, this could be the discovery of the century, but it could also have some very dark implications. If we were to foolishly open a portal to another dimension, there’s no telling what might come through. With our current understanding, an astrophysicist would tell you that opening a wormhole is one thing, but keeping it open would require amounts of energy we simply can’t produce.

But as far as I know, scientists have never studied a wormhole firsthand and all their knowledge on the subject is theoretical. These are uncharted waters, so to speak, and caution is always advised in such circumstances. Should we let entities from parallel universes know that we’re here and that we have the technology to open wormholes? is as legitimate a question as any.

Furthermore, claims that the Illuminati are backing the experiments at CERN do nothing to quell public fears.

BPEarthWatch’s disturbing theory has sparked heated debates and a spite of other hypotheses; none of them will make you sleep better at night.

“BPEarthWatch states there is a link between the current earthquakes in Italy and the CERN collider activity. I personally believe this to be true,” wrote UFO researcher Scott Waring on his blog. “If you remember when President Obama was in Norway receiving his Nobel Peace Prize, that a micro black hole opened up in the sky above his city,” he added. “Coincidence? No, it was caused by CERN.”

Waring believes that scientists at CERN (and the NWO proponents that are backing these experiments) aim to open some kind of stargate on Earth. In theory, this could allow humans to explore and even colonize the universe. But this is the most optimistic of views. On the other side of the spectrum, we have some inherently bad, emotionless alien overlords just waiting to take over Earth and enslave/destroy humanity. A grim perspective but fortunately, there is no proof something like this would actually happen. Blame Hollywood for these phobias, I know I am.

.!. you, Tinseltown!

CERN officials have always dismissed claims pertaining to the dangers associated with their activity. In a statement given to The Daily Mail, a spokesperson said that the LHC is safe and does not pose any threat to life on Earth:

“The LHC is safe, and has been running smoothly and continuously day and night since it restarted last spring. It can not affect earth’s activity in any way, nor the weather. In addition, if the LHC can achieve particle collisions at an energy that no other particle accelerators have reached before, Nature routinely produces higher energies in cosmic-ray collisions: this happens in the atmosphere at any moment.”

Earthquakes have always been existing on earth, unfortunately,” he added. “We are deeply saddened by the terrible events in Italy.”

Earlier this summer, the Proton Driven Plasma Wakefield Acceleration Experiment fired up for the first time. Not two months passed and a powerful earthquake hit central Italy. Yesterday, New Zealand was shook and then hit by a tsunami. These events could be totally unrelated but we’re still wondering who’s next.

There is a CERN in concern, after all.
