One of the most interesting UFO cases, leaving physical evidence and also real-time sighting of strange beings coming out of a craft, has been witnesses by two police officers from Socorro, New Mexico.
This case has kept the fire burning in ufology for over 40 years. Even though the Government tried to mask this amazing event, they couldn’t come up with any decent explanation as they were taken by surprise and the witnesses were too convinced of what they saw to think otherwise.
At 5:45 P.M. on April 24, 1964, thirty-one year old policeman Lonnie Zamora was on patrol as usual when he saw a car making haste on the street way over the speed limit. He then started chasing the driver when suddenly, a loud roar followed by a flame in the sky distracted him.
“At this time, I heard a roar and saw a flame in the sky to the southwest some distance away.”
He knew about the existence of a dynamite shack not far from there so at first he thought that someone had triggered an explosion there. Concerned about a bigger threat, he disengaged from the car chase and went in the direction of the shack. He reported the series of events to the sheriff’s dispatcher.
As he approached his destination, he saw fire and smoke rising but, when he got even closer, about 100 to 200 yards, Zamora spotted a mysterious shining object resembling to a large egg.
At first he thought that he was dealing with an overturned car but, after a closer look he realized the UFO was not upside down but sitting on one end, supported by some slender legs. The object also had no windows or doors.
Puzzled by the strange sighting, the policeman decided to investigate even further.He went towards an unusual red insignia which he observed on the side of the object when two bizarre creatures resembling children appeared in front of him.
He remembered that one of them seemed surprised by his presence. Zamora immediately radioed back to the sheriff’s office, describing the strange happenings.
I saw two people in white coveralls very close to the object. One of these persons seemed to turn and look straight at my car and seemed startled – seemed to quickly jump somehow. I don’t recall noting any particular shape or possibly any hats or head gear. These persons appeared normal in shape, but possibly they were small adults or small kids.”
Before noticing anything else, the cop heard a loud noise accompanied by a blue flame coming from under the flying craft. Afraid that it was going to blow up, he found shelter on the ground. After a few moments of panic, he saw the object lifting off the ground, its strange legs disappearing.
“It started at a low frequency but quickly the roar rose in frequency and in loudness… Flames were under the object… light blue and at bottom was a sort of orange color.”
