Creator of Facebook’s “Storm Area 51” event, Matty Roberts, is currently promoting a festival called the ‘Alienstock Festival’ that celebrates aliens.
Roberts, who was worried about the commotion created due to the Facebook page that had gone viral over the past couple of months is now working on promoting a festival which is to take place the same weekend as ‘Storm Area 51” raid.
‘Storm Area 51’ which was intended as a joke raked in millions of people claiming they will attend the raid. After hotels in the area started filling up, the feds stepped in warning people of the dangers the raid may create.
The festival is to take place September 19-22 in the small town of Rachel, Nevada. According to the festival’s website, “we’re aiming to establish something unique here, a meeting place for all the believers. Come out to the desert to dive into a world full of live music, arts and camping under the stars.”
There may be obstacles standing in the way of the festival as the towns people of Rachel aren’t on board with the plans.
According to the town’s website, “The residents were not asked and are not on board and will certainly not allow their town to be taken over. This has a high potential of getting ugly. Please consider visiting at another time.”
“A dubious group, known for chaotic events like Burning Man and the Las Vegas Electric Music Festival has taken over this event. They threaten to ‘take over Rachel’ and claim that the residents are ‘on board.’ “
The town of Rachel is quite small and may not be able to occupy a festival of this capacity. The town has a single motel and a gas station that is 50 miles away. Little A’Le’Inn is booked for the weekend of the festival and it looks like most people who’ll attend will have to camp.
Alienstock’s website claims parking, camping sites, toilets and water to drink will be provided.
The website promises attendees that they are doing everything in their power to create an ‘amazing experience’. They also hinted that well known performers will also be coming out to the festivals. As to who will attend is still unknown.
According to the town’s website, the sheriff’s department and feds will be present. Anyone who tries to enter area 51 will be arrested.
“Stay away from the residential part of Rachel,” “Most residents do not like where this event is going and will respond accordingly,” instructs the website.
The festival is most likely being set up to ease the tension created by the “Storm Area 51” event.
