Alien Abduction Insurance Exists. Company Already Sold 6,000 Policies.

Alien abduction is insured, even if the payout is more symbolic than anything else.

A Florida insurance company St. Lawrence Agency offers both limited and comprehensive alien abduction insurance. It is owned by Mike St. Lawrence and located in Altamonte Springs.

Mike created the company in 1987 when he looked at his insurance policy to see if alien abduction was covered. It wasn’t.

“I went and I looked at my homeowner’s insurance policy to see if I was covered for a risk like this and I was not.”

St. Lawrence Agency sells policies for $19.95 or $22.95 if you want a printed certificate. Since this business started it sold almost 6,000 policies.

To purchase the policy, you have to have a sense of humor. The catch is, the policy included $10 million worth of coverage…to be paid out $1 a year for 10 million years.

“I take a very opened mind approach to this, whether it’s happening or not. But if you get one of our policies, show you have a sense of humor about it,” said St. Lawrence.

To get the money, the policyholder has to file a claim and provide proof of abduction. Mike has paid for at least two policies so far. One of the policy holders submitted a Polaroid photo of an alien as their proof.

Storm Area 51 Insurance Included

Still the policy is getting more attention since the “Storm Area 51” plans.

Mike does not support the idea of storming the secret military base, but says his policy will cover this event.

“It is activated if you go in and you don’t come out.”

“If I could give advice, it would be to stay home because this is a military site and they probably take blocking people from getting in seriously,” said St. Lawrence.

Besides alien abduction, St. Lawrence offers asteroid insurance and reincarnation insurance. Mike also claims that he sold a policy to actress Shirley MacLaine.

For now, his policy is a joke, even though the money exchange is real. (However some may argue that real insurance policies are not less of a joke when it comes to filing a claim).

Perhaps, different alien abduction insurance policies will become available with bigger payouts as more abductees share their stories with the world.
