Their initiative has split the Earth into 64,000 pieces and everyone is encouraged to join in on the action and register on their website to get a piece. Mind you, this adoption is virtual and users will be assigned a random piece with no legal rights to the specific region.

What you will get is a personalized certificate showing data gathered on the region by one of NASA’s Earth observing satellites.
Each certificate will show information about the carbon monoxide levels, moisture and vegetation specific to the adopted zone.
Undoubtedly, the alien forces observing the rocky planet we all call home know about this. Will they respond and hopefully take over? Because it’s abundantly obvious humans aren’t very good tenants.
