A British UFO investigator and conspiracy theorist was found dead in an apartment in Poland, just days after letting his mother know that he was in serious trouble.
This July, 39-year old Max Spiers was discovered lifeless on a couch in the Polish capital of Warsaw. He had been invited there to speak at a conference and prior to his death, he had been working with two Polish science fiction writers.
Mother Vanessa Bates is convinced foul play is involved in the death of her son, which was ruled ‘from natural causes’ despite the fact that a post-mortem examination was never carried out.
“He was making a name for himself in the world of conspiracy theorists and had been invited to speak at a conference in Poland in July. He was staying with a woman who he had not known for long and she told me how she found him dead on the sofa.”
But I think Max had been digging in some dark places and I fear that somebody wanted him dead.
Max was energetic in the field of UFO investigations and their covering up by key figures. It was after these key figures, businessmen, politicians and entertainers that Max was after. It’s probably what got him killed. One of the last texts he sent his mother read:
Your boy’s in trouble. If anything happens to me, investigate.
The month following his death, Max was set to appear on stage as a speaker at the Bases 2016 Conference. His subject included the supernatural and plenty conspiracy theories.
The circumstances surrounding Max’s death are shadowy enough for anyone to start asking questions about his own freedom and safety. His friends told press that shortly before his death, Max “vomited a black liquid.” This particular aspect, coupled with the premonition texts he sent to his mother and the unusual tiredness he had been experiencing seems to suggest that he was poisoned. This opinion is shared by other conspiracy theorists who find the number of strange elements to this story too damn high:
“The entire circumstances are suspicious and I urge everyone to encourage the release of details about what really happened and call for an autopsy,” wrote Project Camelot.
If it wasn’t true what he talks about then why would they kill him? Healthy people don’t just get sick and die, they get poisoned.
Miles Johnson, one of his friends and colleagues at Base, said in an interview that ‘…a person has died here and I don’t think it’s good enough [that] somebody who just took normal medication should end up vomiting, spewing black liquid, whatever it was. And then shortly after that, whatever length of time it was died.’

Perhaps the most troubling aspect of this dark episode is that it’s just the latest in a series that goes back decades. Before Max there was conspiracy author Phillip Marshall and his two kids, all found dead of gunshot wounds. Before them there were Phil Schneider, Ron Johnson, Con Routine, Ann Livingston and Karla Turner. There are many others whose names we’ll never know. RIP all those who lost their lives searching for the truth!
