The X-Files is one of the most popular and arguably the best TV show about aliens and UFOs of all-time, but some say it contained so much truth within that it almost double as a documentary series.
The series, which followed agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully as the stumble upon both government and alien conspiracies in real life, became a huge hit, and spawned the catch phrase “The Truth is Out There” that has been used by many in the UFOlogy community for decades since the show first came out in the early 1990s.
While the X-Files doesn’t appear set to return any time soon based on actress Gillian Anderson’s recent admission that she is likely done with the series, there are still plenty of things to sort out regarding the real life “X-Files” on aliens and UFOs that still haven’t been revealed yet.
Recently, a former British Ministry of Defense (MoD) expert has shared his own thoughts on America’s “real life X-Files,” and if what he says is true, there may be more to this treasure trove of alien documents than the mainstream media would care to divulge, or even discuss for that matter.
UFO Cover Up? Great Britain is Lying About UFO Files, Expert Claims
The expert in question is Nick Pope, who used to head the MoD’s now defunct UFO desk.
Pope, 54, who is now a freelance British journalist and media commentator, performed a wide range of duties for the MoD relating to its non-operational Royal Air Force activities from 1991 to 1994.
Pope says that Britain is lying about its knowledge of America’s top secret X-Files alien and UFO project, and that the organization he once worked for claims it has “no opinion” on the “existence of extra-terrestrial life.”
Pope asked defense chiefs to provide any information related to the U.S. government’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) under a Freedom of Information request.
The response from the highly secret program was that they hold “no information,” even though the existence of the program was confirmed by the Pentagon late last year.
“You may wish to be aware that the MoD has no opinion on the existence, or otherwise, of extra-terrestrial life and ceased investigating UFO reports after 2009 because they served no Defense benefit,” they added.
But Pope believes that response may not be fully accurate. He believes that UK cases were “almost certainly” included, and that there’s “no doubt” that British defense chiefs would have shared information and co-operated with U.S. officials on UFO-related cases.
It would be “scandalous” if the MoD had been liaising with Americans on UFO research after 2009, when they stated “no official interest” in the subject.
“It’s not clear from the Freedom of Information response if MoD officials checked with the Defense Intelligence Staff about the program — and that’s where any UK/US liaison would have taken place, and not through the offices of the now-defunct UFO project,” Pope said.
Secret, Nearly 500-Page Report Details “Best Evidence” on Aliens and UFOs
According to Pope, U.S. government officials familiar with AATIP have confirmed that among the paperwork AATIP generated was a 490-page report detailing the “best evidence” not just from the United States, but also from around the world.
Pope says there’s pretty much no way it wouldn’t have information from Great Britain, which has a long history of UFO sightings and potential cover-ups.
He added that the close ties between the two countries is evidence enough that there’s no way the UK would not be included in such files.
“It’s inconceivable to me that such a dossier wouldn’t include information from the UK, firstly because of close US/UK defense ties and secondly because the UK MoD had so much potentially relevant information,” Pope added.
“Of course, if the MoD was liaising with AATIP, and if such contact took place after December 2009, this would be a big deal, because that’s when the MoD’s UFO program was axed, and the Department have clearly stated that after this, there was no official interest in the subject,” Pope said according to a report from The Scottish Sun.
“If this turns out not to be true, it would be scandalous…”
